Norse CC Runs Well At Mississinewa

The Northfield cross country teams ran in the Mississinewa Invite Saturday.

The lady Norse starting out the season with a 2nd place finish to Snider.

All of our Lady Norse finished in the top 12. Starting the team was Ella Gahl with a 3rd place finish in a time of 24:16 followed by Madeline Moore in 4th with a time of 24:29. Trinity Bever came in 6th place in a time of 25:43, Mara Zolman in 9th place in 27:27 and senior Asia Miller rounded out the team with a 11th place finish in 28:44.

Varsity boys cross country started their season off with a 3rd place finish at the Mississinewa Invitational.

Starting off the team standings was Ty Leming with a 8th place finish in the time of 20:23. Tayten Barlow came in a close 2nd for the Norse with a 9th place finish and a time of 20:35. Following Tayten was Karson Pratt 12th place, Jaden Baer 14th, Kamdon Carpenter 18th, Ryland Miller 19th, Ryan Brunett 21st, Aston Aderman 29th, Xavier Roark 31st and Steven Kowalczuk in 38th.

The JH Lady Norse took 7 of the top 11 places Saturday at the Mississinewa Invitational to take 1st place. Laney Haupert captured the individual title with Kaleigh Rice a close 2nd. Teagan Baer, 4th, Ali Copeland, 5th, Adalynn Hawkins, 8th, Olia Leffert, 10th, and Amarah Frieden, 11th. Also running for the Norse and turning in lifetime best performances was Haylee Bucher, Sheila Smith, Izzy See and Trinity Sutterby.

The JH Norse boys took the first 6 places and 8th place to run away with the Mississinewa Invitaional Championship Saturday. With a perfect score of 15, Bode Sorg led with a finishing time of 11:46, Wyatt Bucher, 2nd, Eli Gahl, 3rd, Kortland Pratt, 4th, Holten Satterthwaite, 5th, Hudson Haupert, 6th, and Preston Moore, 8th. Also running and turning in fantastic performances was Nate Hodson, Ethan Hoover, Gavin Lester, Landon McLauglin and Bentley Sutterby. There were 4 schools at the event, but only 2 complete teams. Northfield hosts its own invitational this coming Saturday at the Field of Dreams.
