Manchester Soccer Stops Norwell

The Manchester Boys Varsity soccer team moved their record to 3-1 with a 2-1 victory over Norwell on Monday evening.

The first half had both teams feeling each other out until Michael Ortiz scored a goal, assisted by Nathaniel Miller with about 7 minutes remaining in the half.

In the second half, Norwell got on the board quickly with a goal within the first minute of the half. Manchester’s defense denied Norwell’s further attempts, while the offense tallied numerous shots on goal, but without success. Finally, with just over a minute to go, Roberto Iaione, one of the two exhange students playing for Manchester this season, sent a long pass forward from the right sideline. Tyler McLain, who was on the receiving end of the pass, took only few touches before putting the ball in the back of the net, to seal the victory.
