The Varsity Boys came out strong in the first half holding Harrison to only 3 shots.

In the second half, Harrison scored first around the 65th minute mark. Oak Hill had several opportunities in the second half but just could not capitalize. Harrison scored another goal in the final minutes of the game. The Oak Hill defense was on point today only allowing 7 shots.

The OHXC Golden Eagles hosted the 13 team Oak Hill Invitational Saturday finishing a solid 4th with 102 points. Defending event champ Columbia City finished 1st again with 61 points while Heritage Christian and Bluffton were 2nd and 3rd. Golde Eagle Junior Trenton Sweet continued his impressive start to the season running away from the field at the gun to win the Individual Title in a new personal best of 16:42. Classmate Toby Sneed also posted another personal best as he battled into the Top 10 all day ultimately taking a very impressive 4th place to medal in 17:32. Sweet and Sneed both dropped over 70 seconds off their times at the same event a year ago. Freshman Corban Tippey posted a new personal best as a Top 25 Medalist finishing 20th as classmate Brayden Sommers competed in his first event finishing 37th. Junior AJ Austin rounded out the scoring in 48th for the Golden Eagles who were still without Top runner Owen Jackson and Top 5 runner Kaleb Westgate.

The OHXC Lady Eagles hosted the 13 team Oak Hill Invitational Saturday finishing a solid 4th with 104 points just in front of Delta. Faith Christian won the event with 52 points while Columbia City and Heritage Christain took 2nd and 3rd. Freshman Lady Eagle Biruk Travis ran a strong confident race finishing 2nd behind defending 2 mile Champion Nicki Southerland from Delta who ran a blistering 17:43. Southerland was the State Runner Up in Cross Country a year ago. Travis posted a 20:50 after running in 2nd the entire race-dropping over a minute from her 1st race of the season. Senior Ashlyn Webb and Sophomore Audrey Woodard were Top 25 Medalist as Webb took 17th and Woodard 22nd. The Top 5 scoring Lady Eagles were rounded out by Freshman Sophia Rowland who had a big breakout race posting a 23:32 in 29th followed by Junior Leah Highley in 35th.

The Lady Eagles are in action again next Saturday when they travel south to compete in the Columbus North Invitational.

Behind a stellar effort from the offensive line, Kyle Turanchick breaks a 40 year rushing record held by John Rowe. With 12 carries and 211 yards tonight, Turanchick sits alone at the top of the record book with 3,842 career yards. Turanchick added 5 touchdowns on the ground along with 1 catch for 41 yards.

Will Warnock (2 rushes, 6 yards), Peyton Workman (4 rushes, 9 yards), Austin Lawrence (3 rushes, 7 yards), Colin Tarlton (1 rush, 17 yards), Lance Wyrick (5 rushes, 12 yards), Morshown Cotton (1 rush, 8 yards), Sylis Brown (3 rushes, 15 yards, 1 touchdown), and Harrison York (1 rush, 2 yards) rounded out the rushing attack tonight.

Levi Trexler threaded the needle to complete 6 passes on 8 attempts for 154 yards and a touchdown while Workman connected on 1 pass for 17 yards and a touchdown.

Will Warnock caught one pass for 63 yards and a touchdown. Jackson Lamb also caught one pass for a 17 yard touchdown. Lucas Hasty had 3 receptions for 41 yards and Thomas Nally caught 1 pass for 9 yards.

Grant Elzinga connected on all 8 extra points.

The defense stepped up to force 5 turnovers including 3 interceptions (Hasty, Nally, and Lawrence) and 3 fumble recoveries (2 RJ Trevino, Lamb). They also recorded a safety.

Oak Hill hosts Eastbrook next Friday at home for a 7 PM kickoff.

That Lady Eagles played their best round of the year at the CIC Championship. All 4 Lady Eagle Golfers posted the lowest rounds of their careers!!

Belle Malott led the Lady Eagle Golfers with a 98 which was good for 5th place and a place on the All Conference Team. Isabel Snyder shot 102 and Karsyn Wiley shot 106, both of these ladies were named Honorable Mention All Conference. Sydnie Melton, our lone Freshman shot a 112 which is her lowest score of the year!
