Results from Macoaquah for Tuesday, August 30th

Maconaquah gave up it’s first goal of the season to Oak Hill in the last few minutes of the game on Tuesday night, but fortunately for the Braves, it was to little to late for Oak Hill. Maconaquah improves to 6-0 on the season and this gives Oak Hill their 2nd loss to fall to 4-2.

Maconaquah put 3 goals in the net in the first half, with the first from Ethan Zeiser finding the net off a Zach Sparks corner kick (assist). The 2nd goal came from Kevin Nord, who put a long shot in from 45 yards out that was just above but deflected by the goalies outstretched arms. The ball and the goalie fell into the goal giving the Braves a 2-0 lead with 16 mins remaining in the first half. The third goal came from Bennett Isenburg off a thru pass from Jackson Jones to round out the Maconaquah scoring. The Oak Hill goal came in the final 2 minutes of the 2nd half.

Oak Hill has dominated Maconaquah in recent memory. Maconaquah’s last win against the Eagles had come in 2016 when this years seniors were in 6th grade. It’s possible that the Braves could face Oak Hill again during the sectionals. Maconaquah is now 29-1 in goals for vs goals against, which is very encouraging at this point of the seaon.

Maconaquah’s next opponent will be on Thursday @ TRC foe Tippy Valley.
