Norse JH XC Fifth At Manchester Invite

The Northfield junior high cross country teams both finished fifth at the Manchester Invite Saturday.

The Northfield JH Lady Norse cross country team placed 5th out of 12 teams Saturday at the Manchester Invitational. Leading the way was Kaleigh Rice, 3rd, Laney Haupert, 5th, Ali Copeland, 25th, Teagan Baer, 31st, Olia Leffert, 51st, Amarah Frieden, 53rd and Sheila Smith, 72nd. Rice, Copeland, Leffert and Smith all ran lifetime bests. Baer turned in a season best.

In the girls JV race the Lady Norse were paced by Adalynn Hawkens’ 6th place finish and lifetime best time. Also running lifetime best races was Haylee Bucher, Trinity Sutterby and Izzy See. As with the boys, the girls are running fantastic times mid way into the season.

The Northfield JH Boys team finished 5th out of 14 teams Saturday morning at the Manchester Invitational. Leading the way for the Norse was Bode Sorg, Wyatt Bucher, Eli Gahl, Kourtland Pratt, Preston Moore, Ethan Hoover and Landon McLaughlin. Sorg, Bucher, Gahl, Moore and McLaughlin all turned in lifetime best performances. Hoover ran a season best time.

In the boys JH JV race Holten Satterthwaite was 3rd overall running a season best time. Hudson Haupert was 6th overall. Gavin Lester and Bentley Sutterby both ran lifetime bests in the JV race. The Norsemen are turning in best performances only midway through the season and are looking forward to improving even more.
