Norse XC Runs At South Adams
The Northfield cross country teams ran in the South Adams Invite Saturday.
The JH Lady Norse Cross Country team finished 3rd in a very close race. Only 4 points separated 1st through 3rd. Leading the way and turning in lifetime best performances was Kaleigh Rice, 2nd, and Laney Haupert, 3rd. Ali Copeland finished 18th and all 3 ladies earned medals on the day. Rounding out the scoring was Teagan Baer, Addie Hawkens, Olia Leffert and Amarah Frieden. Also running well was Sheila Smith, Haylee Bucher, Trinity Sutterby and Izzy See. Smith and Bucher both ran lifetime bests too.
The Northfield JH Boys Cross Country team put on a strong showing Saturday finishing 4th out of 15 teams at the South Adams Invitational. Earning medals on the day was Wyatt Bucher, 13th and Bode Sorg, 14th. Eli Gahl, 26th, turned in a lifetime best performance. Rounding out the scoring for the Norse was Kourtland Pratt, Preston Moore, Nate Hodson and Hudson Haupert. Also running well was Holten Satterthwaite, Ethan Hoover, Gavin Lester, Landon McLaughlin and Bentley Sutterby. Haupert and Hodson both ran lifetime bests too. Congrats boys on a job well done!
Lady Norse went to South Adams Saturday. We did not have a team score due to not having a full team at this Invite.
Starting the Lady Norse finishers were Madeline Moore in 23:50, Trinity Bever in 26:12, Mara Zolman in 26:40 and rounding out the team was Asia Miller in 30:19.
The Varsity boys cross country team competed at South Adams and placed 13th as a team overall.
Finishing first for the Norse was Ryan Burnett in a time of 20:36. Following Ryan was Tayten Barlow in 20:42, Ty Leming in 20:47, Jaden Baer in 21:27, Ryland Miller in 22:00, Kamdon Carpenter in 22:38, John Clark in 23:12, Xavier Roark in 24:12 and Eli Mattern in 28:07.
The Norse compete at the Wabash City Park on Tuesday at 5:30pm.
