Wabash XC Runs At West Noble

The Wabash cross country teams ran in the West Noble Invite Saturday.

The MS Lady Apaches competed in the “Chuck Schlemmer Memorial” invite at West Noble on Saturday. The girls raced at two different times, 7 in the Varsity and 4 in the Reserved. The girls toed the line with 197 varsity athletes and 183 reserved runners. There were 25 full varsity teams and 15 full reserved teams. Each of the groups came out with a bang, running with heart and pushing themselves through the thickest mob of athletes they’ve seen this season. Because this, goals were achieved and some strong finished helped the two teams to get 22nd place in the varsity race.

Coming in first for the varsity crew was 8th grader Chloe Cooper running in 103rd place and running a 13:59 mere seconds from her PR again. 8th grader Mallory Tart came running in at a time of 14:08 and taking 107th place. Josie Bailey, another 8th grader, finished in 146th place with a time of 15:11. Next was 8th grader Rinka Higuera who ran in at 15:32 and took 164th place. Coming in next for the team was 8th grader Mia Fairchild. Fairchild ran a time of 15:56 and finished up in 173rd place. Quinn Myers, an 8th grader, came in at a time of 16:32 and taking 182nd place. Next up was Audri Shidler, an 8th grader, running a time of 17:57 and taking home 190th place.

In the reserved race, Sienna Stoffel was first for the team with a time of 17:04 and taking 117th place. Next for the Apache crew was Emma Cantrell, a 6th grader, running a career PR of 18:04 and closing in at 140th. Behind her was 7th grader Caitlyn Shidler in 143rd place and running a season tying PR of 18:14. Coming in next for the team was Allayna Renn, a 6th grader, running a time of 19:29 and taking 140th place.

The Wabash Middle School boys cross country team competed in the West Noble Invitational coming in 13th out of 27 teams. Ezra Church continued his excellent 8th grade season coming in 4th. Luis Trejo came in 23rd, Kamden Oswalt 53rd, Jacoby Amburgey 150th, and Landen Fisher 169th. There were 208 runners in the field. The team returns to action next Saturday when they host their own invite at the city park.

Wabash High School Girls Varsity Cross Country finishes 20th place at West Noble Invitational

The Wabash High School boys cross country team competed in the West Noble Invitational Saturday morning coming in 8th out of 25 teams. In the midst of a very intense training block the Apaches still ran steady, some even ran personal best times of the season. Dave Ford was the first Wabash runner to cross the line coming in 26th. Kaden Vogel wasn’t far behind, coming in 29th. Jonas Church finished in 38th followed by Isaiah Cordes in 62nd, and Brett Shull in 69th. Chase Howard ran a strong race coming in 88th. There were 215 runners in the varsity race. In the reserve race all runners ran a personal best. Kristian Stanton came in 63rd, Matthew Niles 67th, and Maverick Sommers 87th.
