Lady Squires Shut Out Maconaquah

The Manchester girls soccer team defeated Maconaquah 6-0 Wednesday.

Samantha Shock was able to break away from the defenders and scored first for the Lady Squires. Shortly after her first goal, Samantha sent a cross to the back side of the net and Brookelynn Buzzard was able to finish. Tough defensive play from Addison Brubaker, Ella Clifford, Maggie Onderko-White, Karsyn Kampheus and Chase Blevins were able to shut down all attempts from Maconaquah. With 14 minutes left in the first half Joanna Eberly sent a through ball to Aymia Miller who was also able to find the back of the net. Then to finish the half, Jessica Perez was able to assist Campbell Bolinger to give Manchester a 4-0 lead going into halftime.

Both teams battled throughout the second half, but Samantha sent another beautiful ball to Brookelynn Buzzard who got her second goal of the game. As time was running out Diana Diaz dropped the ball to Molly Schannep who was able to loft the ball over the keepers head and into the goal. Grace Smith got the shut out and had 2 saves.
