The Manchester Boys Varsity Soccer team had their five game winning streak come to an end of Wednesday evening with a 2-1 loss to Mississinewa.

The Mississinewa squad scored in the first five minutes of the game after retrieving an errant pass from the Squires back line. Manchester was unable to create many opportunities throughout the rest of the half as Mississineaw sat back on defense.

The second half offered a more open game, with both teams attacking and countter attacking and finally Manchester managed a goal with 14 minutes remaining when Roberto Iaione, playing left midfield, offered a pass across the mouth of the goal which right midfielder, Wyatt Young, sent to the back of the net. The game continued back and forth until Mississinewa managed to convert one more opportunity into a goal with less than five minutes remaining. A header by Tyler McLain with little time remaining on the clock went over the crossbar.

The Squires, now 10-2-1 face Fort Wayne South Side on Thursday at home.
