Results from Tippecanoe Valley for Friday, September 23rd & Saturday, September 24th

The Death Valley Football team improved to 6-0 (5-0) tonight after defeating the Whitko Wildcats 60-6.

The Viking offense put on a clinic in the 1st quarter scoring on four occasions with a 59 yard run from Junior Dalton Alber, a 2 yard and an 18 run from Junior Nate Parker, and a 66 yard run from Junior Wade Jones.

The 2nd quarter saw the offense put up 20 more points from a 35 yard pass from Junior Cody Eastgate to Senior Mason Young, a 28 yard run from Jones, and a 23 yard run from Parker.

With no scoring in the 3rd quarter, two Freshmen, Grady Moriarty and Wes Parker both ran in for scores in the 4th. Moriarty started the quarter with a 40 yard run while Wes Parker ended the quarter with a 52 yard run.

Freshman kicker Gage Overby racked up 6 points on PAT’s.

The Vikings tallied 447 yards of offense on only 24 plays with 389 on the ground.

The Wrecking Crew defense held the Wildcats to 146 yards of total offense. The Wildcats only converted on third down twice out of nine attempts.

Juniors Brock Derf, Nate Engstrand, Trent Marshall, and Issac Ramsey led the way for the defense with 3 solo tackles each.

The Vikings will be back home next week as they host Maconaquah for Homecoming starting at 7:00 PM.

On the boys team Isaac Whetstone led them out with a season best of 19:42 he has been working out some minor issues the last few races and I do believe most of them are taken care of now.
Eli Sterk had a good run. Christopher Marquez, Gavin Leininger, Michael Leininger, and Christian Guzman all had PR’s

The girls team also had good runs. Chesnee Miller finished 8th out 162 runners. Bailey Bussard had good day also.
McKenna Lowe had a tough day once the race started she didnt feel the best but push thru and finished. Senior Talia Holder continues to work her way back closer to the others.

Ava Minix had an amazing race big PR for her running a 23:56. she continues to work with McKenna and gets stronger each week.

So proud of how all the kids ran.
Now to build off the confidence of this race. Going into TRC this coming Saturday October 1st
