Results from Oak Hill for Friday, September 23rd & Saturday, September 24th

Oak Hill posts another shutout with a 40-0 victory. The defense came up with another 2 turnovers tonight which included interceptions by Jackson Lamb and Lance Wyrick

The offense totaled an impressive 403 total yards on the night. Levi Trexler was just shy of 100 yards passing. He ended the night with 97 yards on 5 completions.

Five receivers each caught one pass each on the night. Ty Fagan 35 yards, Kyle Turanchick 22 yards, Lucas Hasty 21 yards, Thomas Nally 11 yards, and Colin Middlesworth 8 yards.

The ground attack was lead by Turanchick with 21 carries, 192 yards, and 4 touchdowns. Will Warnock tallied 82 yards on 6 carries, Avery Mills had 44 yards and a touchdown on 7 carries.

There were also five 2-point conversions on the night. Turanchick (2), Trexler, and Wyatt Strange each rushed one in. Mills also caught a 2-point conversion.

The girls soccer team tied Mississinewa 0-0 Saturday

The Lady Eagles have two regular season games left next week, both on the road. On Wednesday, the Lady Eagles will travel to Wabash and then travel to Lapel on Thursday.

The OHXC Golden Eagles had another scuccessful split squad weekend Saturday competing on the Huntington Univesity IHSAA Semi State course. The Golden Eagles ran number 1 runner Junior Owen Jackson in the New Haven Classic AAA Large School Division while the rest of the team battled in the AA Medium Sized School Division.

Led by Golden Eagle Junior Trenton Sweet’s individual title in 16:38 the men took a close 3rd overall behind Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger and South Bend Riley in the 21 team race. Sweet’s time overall was the 16th fastest on the day in all three divisions. Juniors Toby Sneed was a Top 10 finisher as well taking 10th in 17:22. Junior AJ Austin and Freshman Corban Tippey were also Top 40 Medalist respectively finishing 29th and 33rd. Freshman Brayden Sommers rounded out the varsity Top 5 scoring in 54th. Sophomore Owen Roth and Freshman Jordan Denham were Top 7 varsity contributors.

Jackson raced to a 10th place finish in the large school division in a time of 16:25. If Jackson would have competed in the AA Division with the core group the Golden Eagles would have finished 1st by over 30 points.

The Golden Eagle Men enter the Championship portion of their season as they compete next Saturday October 1st in the Central Indiana Conference Championship held at IWU. The men will be going for their 7th straight conference title.

The OHXC Lady Eagles competed well finishing in the top half of the 23 team New Haven Classic AA Division (medium sized schools) Saturday on the Huntington University IHSAA Semi State course. The ladies totaled 262 points good for 11th. Norwell won the event with 69 points.

Lady Eagle Freshman Biruk Travis had another breakout day as she set a new personal best 19:45 in fininishing an impressive 3rd. Both athletes that beat Travis were from Ohio schools. Overall on the entire day (3 division races) Travis’ time was the 11th overall (9th for Indiana athletes). Junior Leah Highley also had a strong day earning a Top 40 medal finishing 36th. Sophomore Audrey Woodard 60th, Freshman Sophie Rowland 83rd, and Sophomore Abby Sneed 92nd rounded out the Top 5 Varsity scorers. Senior Emma Bledsoe 93rd and Freshman Lydia Trexler 153rd were also varsity contributors.

The Lady Eagles enter the championship portion of their season as they compete next Saturday October 1st at IWU in the Central Indiana Conference Championship. The ladies will be going for their 10th straight conference championship.
