Lady Apaches End Regular Season

The Wabash Lady Apaches finished up their regular season Wednesday night with a 0-1 loss to Oak Hill.

Wabash ended the season with a record of 11-3 and 5-1 in the TRC. This is the most winningest season held by by Lady Apaches soccer program. Senior goalkeeper Hannah Layne played an incredible game in goal against Oak Hill, collecting 24 saves and allowing just 1 goal in the first half. The Wabash defense was led by junior Kiana Jones, senior Abbie Boggs, freshman Jaycee Jones and senior Libby Mattern. Junior Natalie Adams also helped control the center of the field. Sophomore Graci Napier played an outstanding game both offensively creating great opportunities up top and defensively. Senior Rylee Yoakum sparked the offense with several near misses on goal and kept the pressure on the entire game.

Contributing shots on goal for the Lady Apaches were Yoakum, K. Jones, sophmore Kait Honeycutt and junior Maddie Von Uhl. This was our last game at Alumni Field this season and we were proud to recognize our seniors Abbie Boggs, Hannah Layne, Rylee Yoakum and Libby Mattern and thank them for all they have contributed to our soccer program. Wabash is back in action next Thursday in their 1st round of sectional play taking on county rival Manchester at 5pm at Eastbrook.
