Northfield JH Falls To Whitko

Northfield jumped out of the gates early with Corbin Goshert returning the first kickoff 80 yards for a touchdown, but Whitko weathered the early storm, posting a 30-20 win.

Northfield rushed for 182 yard and generated over 320 all purpose yards, but a couple big pass completions found the Norse on the short end on the scoreboard.

Goshert finished with 147 yards rushing on 15 carries, followed by Lukas Southwick added 6 carries for 36 yards. Lucas Law added a carry for a yard while Briggs Baker had two rushes for minus two yards. Caden Amburgey recorded 25 returns yards.

Southwick paced the defense with 10.5 tackles, including two sacks and an interception. Cody Holmes recorded two sacks while Eli Shoue played a great game at middle line backer, recording six tackles, two for losses with a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.

The seventh grade team scored two touchdowns in their two-quarter exhibition. Kasen Frank scored on a 19-yard run with Briggs Baker adding the PAT run.

Cooper good punched in the other score, this time with a seven-yard run. The point-after failed, where the score remained until the final.

Frank recorded two solo tackles with a forced fumble and fumble recovery. Good added 2.5 tackles. Calvin Thompson had a forced fumble with Justin Brunett adding a fumble recovery.

Frank finished with 31 yards on two carries. Good added 10 yards and Josh Laramancha added eight yards on one carry.
