The Lady Braves open their season at home with TRC opponent Manchester. The Lady Braves started the game out slow and got down 11-18 after the first quarter. Then they settled down in the 2nd quarter and out scored the Lady Squires 20 -12 to take a one point lead going into half. Both teams scored 8 points in the 3rd quarter going into the 4th quarter, then in the fourth quarter the Lady Braves took control with about 2 minutes left and made just enough free-throws to hold on to get the season opener 49-45. Lady Braves were led in scoring by Miranda Stoll with 20 points and 8 rebounds, Hallie Maiben scored 11 points and Bailey Carson had 9 points and 5 assist. Courtney Stoll led the Lady Braves with 9 rebounds to go along with her 5 points. Shaelyn Powell had the duty to guarding Manchester’s top scorer and held her to just 2 points in the 2nd half. The bench played an important role in the win today. Chloe Smyth, Maddie Wibel, Sydney Barnes and Addie Maiben all came in at important times and contributed to the win.
