The Huntington North Lady Vikes went on the road and defeated #7 Homestead in overtime 58-55. Marissa Trout banked in a 3 pointer from half court to send the Vikes home happy. It was a very back and forth game the whole way with neither team getting a lead higher than 6-7 points. The Lady Vikes lead after the 1st period by 3 and Homestead battle back to tie the game at halftime. The 3rd an early 4th quarter belonged to Homestead but the Lady Vikes showed no quit. The Lady Vikes battled back behind a charge from Senior All State candidate Taylor Double (Marian commit). She finished regulation with 19 pts. In overtime, Homestead jumped out quick building a 6 pt lead with 2:30 to go. After a 3 pointer and bucket plus the foul from Double the Vikes put themselves in position to win. Homestead committed a later turnover with 1.8 seconds remaining with the score tied. Looking to go full court Double passed the ball into to Marissa Trout at half court where she took one dribble and banked in the game winner giving the Lady Vikes the win. It was Huntington North first win at Homestead since 2006 and first win against them since 2011. The win improves the Lady Vikes to 3-1 (0-0) on the season.

Gracie Fields 10 pts 5 rebs 6 assist.
