Northfield JH Falls To North Miami

The Northfield junior high boys lost a pair of games to North Miami Monday.

7 th Grade North Miami at Northfield
FINAL: North Miami 38 – Northfield 20
The boys grow each game from week to week, but continue to lack the confidence they need to start
strong. We are 0-3, but in each of our games if we take away the score in the first period the score would
swing in our direction. North Miami put the pressure to us forcing turnovers. The pressure that was brought
tonight was new, confusing, and frustrating. As we improve, we need to use our speed and ability to force
fouls to put the game in our hands. I am proud the boys didn’t fold and picked up their defensive intensity,
hustle, and physicality throughout the game. We lost but we got better and will continue to hopefully
improve each game throughout our season so we can play our best basketball going into the conference
tournament at the end of the season. We were led in scoring by Cooper Good (8) followed by Kasen Frank
(6), Brecken Floor (4), and Kale Krom (2). Other positive notes from tonight’s contest: Cooper Good (5
steals), Calvin Thompson (2 steals). Kasen Frank played great with 10 rebounds, 6 steals, and 5 blocks.
Our next contest is Thursday at Maconaquah where we hope to continue improving together as a team.

8 th Grade North Miami at Northfield
FINAL: North Miami 46 – Northfield 6
The 8th grade boys were defeated handedly by the North Miami Warriors and fall to 0-3. The Warriors
brought pressure and physicality that could not be matched. We will move forward to better ourselves
through our struggles. Turnovers are still a major concern of ours but we never gave up and continued to
show improvement. We were led in scoring by Caleb DuBois (6). Other positive notes from tonight’s
contest: rebounds (9) Eli Shoue, (5) Caleb DuBois, (3) Wyatt Bucher, and (2) Ethan Hoover. Our next
contest is Thursday at Maconaquah where we hope to continue improving together as a team.
