The boys had a tough night at Oak Hill. Oak Hill’s team is half seniors. They were just better and deeper than us. We swam well and had several best times. Jesse Santiago dropped over a second in the 100 Breaststroke and 2.7 in the 100 Free. Coen Thompson dropped a sec in the 50 back. Luke Abbott continues to improve every meet. He dropped 7 sec in the 50 Breast and 10 sec in the 100 Free. P.J. Higgins dropped 1 sec in the 200 IM. Garrett McManus dropped .3 in 50 Free and .8 in 100 Free. Cole Nye had a great race in the 100 Breast dropping .7 and 1 sec in the 100 Fly. Jonathan O’Connor dropped 1.2 in 50 Back. Ryley Rodkey dropped 5.2 in 200 IM. Victor Riker had much better turns in the 200 Free and 100 Backstroke dropping 6 and 17 sec. The Golden Goggle Award goes to Drake Samuel. This is Drake’s first year swimming. I am so happy with his hard work in practice and ability to be coached. Drake dropped 12 sec in the 50 Fly from when we timed it in practice two weeks ago and another 25 sec in the 500 Free. That is an improvement of over a minute from his first meet a week ago. He had much better turns and streamline last night. We have another tough meet against Tippy Valley on Thursday.

We traveled to Oak Hill and gave it our best shot. The girls worked hard and remained tied for the first half of the meet. In the 200 medley relay we knew it would be a difficult night when we placed 2nd and 3rd. In the 200 free, Chloe Jordan came out on top with Nevy Sebastian placing 3rd. Zoie Laber and Sam Jones placed 2 and 3 in the IM but both had PRs, Shay Schoettmer placed 5th. Laci Winegardner placed 2nd with a PR, Thea Tyra placed 3rd, and Kyndal Collins placed 5th. Kathryn Rodkey held her own placing 2nd in diving but Oak Hill had three divers that placed 1,3,4. Sam Jones placed and PRd in the 100 butterfly followed by Zoie Laber placing 4th and Abby Jordan 5th. In the 100 free, Lucy Loshnowsky placed 2nd with a PR and Thea Tyra 3rd. Chloe Jordan came out again on top in the 500 with a PR. Nevy Sebastian placed 4th. The 200 free relay was more of the swim with the girls (Winegardner, Jones, Sebastian, C.Jordan) placing 2nd. Loshnowsky earned another PR in the 100 backstroke and a 1st place followed by Kendall Collins placing 5th and dropped her time by three seconds! In breastroke Winegardner, Schoettmer, and Rodkey placed 2,3,4. The 400 free relay team (oTyra, Laer, Loshnowsky, and C.Jordan placed 1st with Sebastian, Brennan, Schoettmer, Jones placing 3rd.

Lucy Loshnowsky was awarded the Golden Goggle for earning three best times in the Medley Relay, 100 free, and 100 backstroke. Lucy is a hard worker and I couldn’t be more proud of her!
