Balance Leads Squires Past Rochester

The Manchester Squires improved to 12-2 by defeating Rochester 71-49 Friday.

The Squires got off to a hot start with five first quarter threes and jumped out to a 26-9 lead. The Squires held Rochester to 17 second half points and pulled away in the fourth quarter.

Leading the way for the Squires was Gavin Betten with 31 points, which tied his season high. Ethan Hendrix and Tyler McLain played a great game and added 14 points each. Gavin Martin added 8 points and hit 2 threes. Other scorers for the Squires were Tallon Torpy with 3 points and Trevor Heath with 1. Carter Wagoner grabbed 5 boards for the Squires. Manchester is back in action tomorrow night at Adams Central.

Manchester boys JV basketball beats Rochester 50-48. Manchester was led by Aaron Reid and Wyatt Prater with 11 points followed by Kaleb Kline with 10 points and Carson Heath and Reiss Gaerta both had 8 points. Manchester’s record is now 11-3 overall and 3-1 in the conference.
