Southwood High School Boys Varsity Basketball falls to Tippecanoe Valley High School 62-47 Friday.

The Knights got off to a slow start scoring only 6 points in the first quarter at Tippecanoe Valley to trail 12-6 after one. The second quarter the Knights found themselves down 28-17 but ended on a 5-0 run to cut the lead back to 6 points at the half 28-22.

Coming out of the half the Knights scored the first five points, a three by Dylan Stout and a steal and jumper by Will Winer cut the Vikings lead to 28-27. The Knights had their next two possessions to take their first lead, but could not make the shots.

Tipp Valley went on a 7-0 run to extend their lead back to 35-27 with the help of seven Knights turnovers in the third quarter.

Early in the fourth quarter the Knights found themselves down 53-34 but fought back to cut the lead to 12 points but Vikings free throws of 10-12 in the fourth quarter kept the Knights at bay.

A bad combination of turnovers (18), free throws (8/17) and field goals (36%) lead to the 62-45 loss for the Knights.

The Knights return to action next Friday when they host the North Miami Warriors and recognize their 2022 TRC football team between the JV and Varsity game.
