Lady Apaches Fall At North Miami


The Wabash Lady Apaches traveled to North Miami on Saturday and fell 62-53 in a hard fought battle against the Lady Warriors.

Wabash would trail by 3 after a quarter but foul trouble would hurt in the 2nd period as they trailed 32-24 at the half. The second half would see the Lady Apaches make some runs but never get closer than 5.

Wabash, now 13-7, 4-3 , was led by Kait Honeycutt and Kierra Wilson with 14 and 13 points. Jade Stumbo pulled down 10 boards, Wilson added 8, while Rylee Yoakum dished out 5 assists. Libby Mattern and Honeycutt each had 3 steals to top the squad.

The Lady Apaches will be back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Peru for a TRC battle.

The Lady Apache JV could never get the offense going at North Miami on Saturday night as they did not score more than 6 points in any quarter as they fell 33-16. Wabash was just 7-28 from the field and 2-11 from the free-throw line.

Leading the Lady Apache scoring attack was Logan Wright with 6 points. Sammie Walter pulled down 6 rebounds and Bella Vail had 4 steals to lead the squad.
