Manchester 8th Girls Win Whitko Tournament

The Manchester 8th grade girls won the Whitko tourney Saturday.

n the first game, the Squires played the Whitko Wildcats. The ladies started fast outscoring the Wildcats 12-0 in the first quarter and never looked back! The entire team got significant playing time including Marysa Stroud and Finley Espeset that were playing up from the 7th grade team. Ava Sautter led the team with 14 points, Allie Egolf had 8 points, Ava-Marie Simcoe had 7 points, Emma Walker had 6 points, and Marysa Stroud had 2 points. Final score was 37-6.

In the championship game, the Lady Squires played a very tall Blackhawk Christian team. Emma Walker caught fire from deep, draining three 3 pointers in the 2nd quarter, and finished with 22 points overall! Ava Sautter had 12 points, Ava-Marie Simcoe had 8 points, and Allie Egolf had 5 points. Katelynn Leckrone, Ashley Angle and Ariah Dillon all had a great tournment even though they didn’t score.

These 2 wins moved the Lady Squires record to 7-1 on the season.
