Maconaquah Lady Braves Softball gets shut out against Kokomo.

In the first game ever in the new Kokomo Softball Stadium, Maconaquah gets shut out. Kokomo’s Taylor Reed got the win for the Kats, hurling a no hitter through 5 innings.

Pitching for the Braves was Sophomore Blayklee Buman who allowed 6 hits, 2 earned runs, 4 Ks, and 3 BB.

Coach Carson Comments…”Hats off to Kokomo for inserting us into their schedule. They are a great team top of the order to the bottom. They played hard, and fast.

It is good for us (Maconaquah) to see this kind of competition. I think our girls were a little intimidated walking into that stadium. We made alot of errors on routine plays. When we did get on base we gave them outs.

Looking for positive take on the game, offensively 8 out of 18 plate appearances were QABs. This is an improvement compared to the Eastern game. Buman did her job in the circle allowing only 2 earned run.

Bottom line we asked for a tough non conference schedule. We wanted play the top teams in the area. We have to learn from tonights game, and get better as a team.”

Maconaquah games the rest of the week.
