Norse Golf Falls In Opener

The Northfield golf team kicked off the golf season Tuesday night falling to a stout Huntington North squad scoring a 156 to Northfield’s 164.

Cash Cartwright led the way for the Norse with a 38, sharing medalist honors with both Cole Collins and Kamden Lahr of the Vikings. Easton Shaw fired a 39 on the evening followed by Tyson Baer with a 42. Tristan Hoffman and Dylan Ross rounded out the top 5 with a pair of 45’s.

Gavin Brainard carded a 46 in his high school debut and would be one of the few with a birdie on the score card(hole 6) for the 9 hole match.(Cartwright would also birdie on hole 2.) Hank Gray and Ryder Schram also competed strongly in their first outings with a 54 and 59.

The Norse will be back on the road again tomorrow against Adams Central at Cross Creek for a 5:00 pm start.
