Oak Hill High School Boys Varsity Golf beat Mississinewa High School 172-211

The boys varsity golf team defeated Mississenewa tonight at Arbor Trace Golf Club. Low Medalists for the match were Kamron Cabe and Trent Nelson with a 41.

Oak Hill High School Varsity Softball falls to North Miami High School 10-0

After a rough first inning Oak Hill’s pitching and defense settled in and played a much better game.

Macie Foustnight came in and pitched 2.1 excellent innings. She was backed up by some nice catches in the outfield and some nice plays at short by Taylor Holloway. Later in the game Liz Godfrey turned an impressive catch and throw double-play.

On offense Oak Hill left several players on base struggling to get the big hit.

We play again Thursday at Maconaquah.

Oak Hill High School Boys Varsity Track finishes 1st place at Frankton/Sheridan

The OHTF Golden Eagles stayed undefeated on the 2023 season winning 9 events to total 87 points to beat host Frankton and Sheridan in Tuesday’s traingular meet. In all the Golden Eagles scored in all 15 events (no pole vault was scored), took runner up honors in another 8 events, and recorded multiple season bests.

Junior Trenton Sweet along with Seniors Landon Biegel and Lucas Hasty led the way with three event wins each. Sweet individually won the 1600 Meter Run and 3200 Meter Run respectively in 4:35 and 10:14 while also being part of the 4×800 Meter Relay that won in a season best 8:29. Joining Sweet on the relay was classmate Owen Jackson, senior Landon Biegel, and Sophomore Lance Wyrick. Biegel won the High Jump and was part of the winning 4×400 Meter Relay which posted a season best time of 3:36. Joining Biegel on the relay were classmates Hasty and Caleb Kroll along with Junior Levi Trexler. Biegel also took 2nd to Jackson in the 800 Meter Run with Jackson leading a 1-2-3 finish in the event joined by classmate AJ Austin in 3rd behind Biegel. Jackson was part of another 1-2-3 finish in the 1600 Meter Run behind Sweet and classmate Toby Sneed who was 2nd to Sweet in both distance events. Hasty took 1st in the 300 Meter Hurdles just ahead of Wyrick while taking 2nd himself in the 110 Meter Hurdles. Hasty grabbed another 1st in the 4×100 Meter Relay. Joining Hasty and Kroll, another multi event winner, was classmate Kyle Turanchick and Sophomore Morshown Cotton.

Other event winners for the Golden Eagles were Senior Silas Jones in the Shot Put, Junior Tai Johnson in the Disc.

The Golden Eagles are now 3-0 on the season and compete in the 11 team annual Oak Hill Co-Ed Relays this Saturday April 15th.

Oak Hill High School Girls Varsity Track finishes 2nd place at Frankton/Sheridan

The OHTF Lady Eagles split a triangular meet with host Frankton and Sheridan Tuesday night. The very talented Lady Eagles from Frankton scored 69 points to beat our Lady Eagles (63) by 6 points.

OHTF was without top scorer Leah Highley on the night and the Pole Vault was not a scored event. Sheridan took 3rd with 24 points.

In all the Lady Eagles won 5 of 15 events and took 6 runner up finishes.

Freshman Lady Eagle Biruk Travis led the way with 3 wins. Travis won both the 1600 and 3200 Meter Runs while also anchoring the come from behind winning 4×800 Meter Relay in a season best time of 11:14, cutting 34 seconds off their previous season best. Joining Travis on the winning relay was classmate Sophia Rowland along with Sophomores Audrey Woodard and Abby Sneed. Sneed had a strong night as she posted a lifetime best to win the 800 Meter Run. Woodard took 2nd in the both the 1600 and 3200 Meter Runs behind Travis.

The lone other win on the night for the Lady Eagles came in the 4×400 Meter Relay as the ladies came from behind off a tremendous anchor leg from Freshman Lexi Nuber. Joining Nuber was Sophomore Ellie Campbell along with Juniors Ruth Tripp and Evelin Perez. Senior thrower Lauren Rex had a strong night behind an All State caliber athlete taking 2nd place in both the Shot Put and Discus.

The Lady Eagles are now 2-1 on the outdoor season and compete Saturday April 15th in the 11 team annual Oak Hill Co-Ed Relays.
