Game 1: Crossroads Bank Red Sox @ Inguard A’s

Recap: In the opening game of the 2023 season, the Inguard A’s beat the Crossroads Bank Red Sox by a score of 15-2 in 4 innings. The A’s were led by Cruz Long, Blake Ashba, and Ryker McKillip who all had 2 hits on the day. Ashba knocked in 3 runs and McKillip had 2 RBI. Beckett Shaw and Zayne Huffman both added singles for the A’s. Blake Ashba started on the mound for the A’s and picked up the win striking out 5 in 2 innings. Ryker McKillip came on in relief and struck out 5. Camden McKee tripled and Coby Leland doubled to lead the Red Sox at the plate. Jake Getman started on the mound for the Red Sox and took the loss. Recap: In Game 2, the Wabash Elk’s Lodge Cubs defeated the Intrasect Technologies Blackhawks 12-2 in 4 innings. Brody Schnurpel led the Cubs at the plate going 3 for 3 with 5 RBI and 3 runs scored. Nash Cunningham added 2 hits and scored 3 runs. Brody Schnurpel went the distance on the mound for the Cubs picking up the win while striking out 7 and allowing only 1 hit in 4 innings. Ethan Mahan singled and scored a run to lead the Blackhawks at the plate. McKinley Baker scored a run while Jayce Kirkpatrick and Mathis Holbert both added an RBI. Recap: In the last game of the day, the Wabash Hardware Giants beat the Kendall Electric Yankees 3-0 in 6 innings. Jake Sailors, Micah Siders, and Bo McWhirt all singled to lead the Giants at the plate. Luke Kaufman knocked in the go ahead run in the top of the 4th to break the 0-0 tie. Jake Sailors struck out 16 in throwing a 2 hit complete game shutout to pick up the win for the Giants. Asa Dawes and Weston Smith both singled for the Yankees. Harrison Dale started on the mound for the Yankees allowing 3 runs on 3 hits and striking out 13 in 5 innings. The Giants begin the season 1-0 while the Yankees are 0-1.
