The Northfield golf team was host to the Cole Invite Saturday, winning the invite shooting a 311.
The Norse scored 311 as a team with the next best score coming in at Huntington North’s 334. The Norse had 3 individuals take home medalist honors who placed in the top 8 of the 45 players in the field.
Easton Shaw tied for 1st with a 74 and fell just short with a bogie on the 2nd playoff hole to take second place overall. Shaw finished at even par on the front side. Tyson Baer placed 3rd overall with a 75. Baer had a stretch of 9 pars in a row. Cash Cartwright tied for the 8th place spot individually with teammate Tristan Hoffman. The two Norsemen both finished with an 81 and tiebreaker was based upon handicap best score; resulting in Cartwright taking the 8th overall. Hoffman still reached a milestone carding his personal best on the front side —39. Dylan Ross finished his round with a 91.
Southwood finished fourth as a team.
Luke Watson was the 4th low individual and team medalist with 41/36=77, Griffin Chambers was 5th low individual with 41/38=79, Keaton Metzger shot 47/42=89, Ian Vanderpool shot 49/47=96, and Jordan Trisler shot 47/55=102.
