Squires Fall At Dekalb

The Manchester Squires traveled to Dekalb High School Saturday to play the Barons, falling 3-2.

The Barons scored two runs in the bottom of the second but the Squires quickly answered back with two runs of their own in the top of the third inning to tie the game. . The game remained locked at 2 until the bottom of the 7th inning when Dekalb hit a sacrifice fly to win the game 3-2.

Garrett Sites threw a complete game on 96 pitches. Garrett had 3 Strikeouts on the mound.

Tallon Torpy led off the 3rd inning with a walk. Ethan Hendrix laid down a beautiful bunt down the firstbase line for a base hit. Torpy and Hendrix moved up when Sites was at the plate. Sites drove in a run and then Hendrix scored on a bad throw to third. The Squires were unable to push anymore runs across the plate as the game went on. Davin and Ethan Hendrix had the two lone hits for the Squires offense.

The team will host TRC foe, Peru, on Monday at 5:30.
