Manchester continued their winning ways in the Three Rivers Conference with a 4-1 win over Tippecanoe Valley for a 6-0 TRC record and a 12-1 season record. Manchester took their first win at 2 singles as freshman phenom Myla Crozier won by a convincing 6-0,6-1 score. Crozier moves her season record to an amazing 16-0 count! The #2 doubles team of freshman Kate Schroll and sophomore Katie Jenkins paired together for the first time this season and showed their great talent winning set one 6-1. In set two they continued their solid serving and net play to close out 6-3 and earn Manchester’s second point. Third off was #1 doubles team of Addison Brubaker and Hailey Krom (moving up a spot in the absence of captains Delani Henderson and Carleigh Blevins) who methodically and strategically defeated their opponents 6-1,6-1. With a combination of heavy topspin, kick/spin serves, and athletic court coverage, the duo showed their continued improvement winning in impressive fashion. Bethany Penrod was off the courts several minutes later needing patience and consistency to topple her opponent 6-0, 6-3. The final match fell Tipp Valley’s way as 1 singles Sarah Kerlin couldn’t quite win the close games and lost 4-6,3-6. Considering Tippecanoe Valley returning many of last year’s players, the young Manchester team impressed with their solid victory.

In JV action Manchester won 7 of 8 matches. Lexi Nichols won twice at JV singles 8-5 and 6-4 while Sophia Anglin played well in an 8-2 win. Maggie Onderko-White came from behind 4-5 to win the last 4 games by an 8-5 score. In doubles play Halley Betten and Marley Bellinger won 8-5 while Carrie Hoffmeyer and Arya Norton took their 8-1. The final doubles win was MaKayla Marcum and Lilli Meyer winning 6-3. Manchester JV is now 13-2 on the year and 6-0 against conference opponents.
