Maconaquah Softball Falls to Peru on Senior Night

Maconaquah (7-13) falls to Peru (6-11-1) at Home Wednesday night. The Braves celebrated Seniors Madi Wibel #20 and Manager Ella Santos at the beginning of the game. Madi plans to attend Ownes Community College to study Criminal Justice and Play Softball. Ella plans to attend Ball State to study Business Admin.

The Braves got down early allowing three runs to Peru in the top of the 1st. Battled back in the bottom of the 5th scoring three runs. A RBI single from Buman scored Clifton, and a two RBI single from Shaella Brazzel scored Buman and Barnes. After 5 innings Peru 4 Mac 3.

Peru picked up 3 in the 6th and 2 in the 7th leaving the Braves with a 9 to 3 deficet to over come.

In the bottom of the 7th the Braves rally with singles from Clifton, RBI single from Rader, and RBI single from Brazzel. However, the final score 9-5 Tigers.

Boys Varsity Baseball beats Peru 6 – 5

Maconaquah Braves Varsity pulled away for good with four runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Klaytin Kile singled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs and Kaleb Shelton doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs.

MJ Ellis took the win for Maconaquah Braves Varsity. The righty allowed three hits and three runs over four innings, striking out seven.

Bennett Isenburg started the game for Maconaquah Braves Varsity. The pitcher lasted three innings, allowing three hits and two runs while striking out three

Maconaquah Braves Varsity scattered 11 hits in the game. Isenburg, Kile, Shelton, and Haydon Chance each collected multiple hits for Maconaquah Braves Varsity. Chance, Shelton, Kile, and Isenburg each managed two hits to lead Maconaquah Braves Varsity.

Trace Armstrong added a triple, Braxton Birner had a single, and Jackson Collins also has a single.

The Braves play Madison Grant at home on Thursday. We will recognize our four seniors, Trace, Jackson, Haydon, and Brandon.

The Maconaquah boys varsity golf came up short Tuesday night against local rivals, Cass and Peru.

Leading the Braves were Ayden Jernagan and Camron Metcalf both with rounds of 49. They were followed by Lane Brehmer (51) and Billy Guinan (52) to round out the scoring for Mac. Cody Miller (65) also competed.

In JV action Ryan Ousley shot 56, Carsten Hollars 64, Jakob Grant and Joe Butcher 65, Eli Price 68.

The Varsity will compete Saturday at the Rock Hollow Invite with a 10:00 shot gun start.
