Recap: The Wabash Hardware Giants held on to defeat the Inguard A’s 5-4 in 6 innings in game 1 Thursday night. Luke Kaufman went 2 for 3 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI to lead the Giants. Micah Siders added 2 hits including a double. Jake Sailors homered and Colton Rice added an RBI single. Quinton Siders and Maverick Mattern both singled for the Giants. Jake Sailors started and picked up the win allowing 1 run on 2 hits and striking out 10 in 5 and 1/3 innings. Cruz Long went 2 for 3 with 2 RBI to lead the A’s. Jackson Tait had an RBI single while Ridge McKillip, Dylan Powell, and Zayne Huffman all singled for the A’s. Ryker McKillip started for the A’s and struck out 3 in 3 innings. Cruz Long came on in relief and struck out 4 in 1 and 2/3 innings. The Giants will play the Yankees on Monday night while the A’s will play the Red Sox on Saturday.
Game 2: Wabash Elk’s Lodge Cubs @ Kendall Electric Yankees
Recap: The Kendall Electric Yankees came from behind in the bottom of the 6th to defeat the Wabash Elk’s Lodge Cubs 3-2 in 6 innings in game 2 Thursday night. Asa Dawes went 2 for 3 with a double to lead the Yankees at the plate. Zach Miller added a double and 2 RBI. Hudson Haupert knocked in the winning run with an RBI single and Jaxten Chambers had a double for the Yankees. Zach Miller started for the Yankees and allowed 2 runs on 4 hits while striking out 10 in 4 and 1/3 innings. Harrison Dale picked up the win in relief striking out 4 in 1 and 2/3 innings. Grady Dillon went 2 for 2 with an RBI to lead the Cubs. Brody Schnurpel had a double and Wyatt Selleck singled for the Cubs. Brody Schnurpel started for the Cubs and allowed 1 run on 2 hits while striking out 8 in 5 and 1/3 innings. The Yankees will play the Giants Monday night and the Cubs will face the Blackhawks on Saturday.
