Recap: The Wabash Hardware Giants defeated the Intrasect Technologies Blackhawks 8-6 in 6 innings in the opening game of the National League Tournament. Micah Siders went 2 for 2 with a double, a triple, and 3 RBI to lead the Giants. Jake Sailors added 2 doubles and an RBI. Maverick Mattern added 2 hits and an RBI. Micah Siders started for the Giants and picked up the win striking out 6 in 5 innings. Jake Sailors came on to pick up the save by striking out the side in the top of the 6th. Mathis Holbert went 2 for 2 with 3 runs scored to lead the Blackhawks. Braxton Chamberlain added 2 hits and an RBI. Jayce Kirkpatrick singled and drove in 3 runs. Madelynn Stahl added a single. The Giants will play Thursday night against the A’s and the Blackhawks will play again Saturday.
Game 2: Crossroads Bank Red Sox @ Wabash Elk’s Lodge Cubs
Recap: The Wabash Elk’s Lodge Cubs defeated the Crossroads Bank Red Sox 5-2 in 6 innings in game 2 on Wednesday night. Ryker Wilcox went 2 for 3 with an RBI to lead the Cubs. Wyatt Selleck added a 2 run single. Brody Schnurpel doubled for the Cubs. Ryker Wilcox started and picked up the win striking out 8 in 3 innings. Liam Edmond came on to pick up the save in the top of the 6th. Coby Leland went 2 for 3 with a double to lead the Red Sox. Cade Pershing added an RBI double and Camden McKee had an RBI single. Carson McKee singled for the Red Sox. Jake Getman started for the Red Sox and struck out 3 in 1 and 1/3 innings. RJ Harris came on in relief and allowed no runs on no hits and struck out 3 in 3 and 2/3 innings. The Cubs will play Thursday night against the Yankees while the Red Sox will play again Saturday.
