Boys Tennis Beats Huntington North 3-2 to Begin 2023 Campaign

The Tiger tennis team opened the 2023 season at Peru’s Thrush Courts with a 3-2 win over the Huntington North High School Vikings. Peru pulled off the singles sweep to take the victory.

Ian Potts secured the #1 singles point with a 6-3, 6-0 win.

Peru’s second point came at #2 singles as Jayleb Walsh scored a 6-3, 6-4 victory.

Jacob Boswell sealed the Peru vicotry with a well-earned three set win at #3 singles, 6-4, 4-6, 6-3.

Huntington North took both doubles spots as Peru’s #1 doubles tandem of Jackson Boswell and Lucas Musser and the #2 team of J.P. Pallante and Karter Schwartz lost by scores of 2-6, 1-6 and 6-3, 2-6, 4-6 respectively.

The Tigers host the Peru Invite at Thrush Courts this Saturday. Twin Lakes, Centerville, and Triton will be the opponents.

Peru Lady Tigers fell to Manchester Tuesday night at home 16-25, 10-25, 12-25. Senior Madison Brimbury contributed 7 assists and 4 service points. The Tigers will face county rival Maconaquah on Thursday night on the road with JV starting at 6:00pm.
