The Manchester Lady Squires soccer team got in one half before rain and lightning halted the game at the half, falling to Columbia City 2-1 Monday.
The Lady Squires battled hard for 40 minutes. They started strong and scored first as Campbell Bolinger found the back of the night on a beautiful shot from just outside the 18.
The Lady Squire defense, led by Addison Brubaker, Maggie Onderko-White, Karsyn Kamphues, Molly Schannep, and Chase Belvins, continued to battle repeatedly but 2 Lady Eagles were able to score before the half was over.
Grace Smith played well in the net with 8 saves. Brookelynn Buzzard and Hannah Eberly also each had a great opportunity with a shot on goal. The game was called at halftime with a storm in the vicinity.
