Manchester Girls Soccer Falls In Rain Shortened Match

The Manchester Lady Squires soccer team got in one half before rain and lightning halted the game at the half, falling to Columbia City 2-1 Monday.

The Lady Squires battled hard for 40 minutes. They started strong and scored first as Campbell Bolinger found the back of the night on a beautiful shot from just outside the 18.

The Lady Squire defense, led by Addison Brubaker, Maggie Onderko-White, Karsyn Kamphues, Molly Schannep, and Chase Belvins, continued to battle repeatedly but 2 Lady Eagles were able to score before the half was over.

Grace Smith played well in the net with 8 saves. Brookelynn Buzzard and Hannah Eberly also each had a great opportunity with a shot on goal. The game was called at halftime with a storm in the vicinity.
