Lady Apaches Soccer Stops Valley

The Wabash Lady Apaches soccer team won 4-1 over Tippecanoe Valley in their non-conference season opener Thursday.

Junior Olivia Braun in her first game as goalkeeper had 6 saves on the night. Incredible defensive effort tonight lead by senior Kiana Jones along with sophomore Jaycee Jones and juniors Graci Napier and Macy Von Uhl.

Wabash earned 10 corner kicks on the night with K. Jones serving most of those, and putting them beautifully into the box. Juniors Abbi Hipskind and Kait Honeycutt controlled the center of the field for Lady Apaches and distributed well to the wings and forwards. Kait Honeycutt started the scoring off a corner and the ball bouncing around it the 18 and she put it low in the corner. Senior Natalie Adams put away 2 goals tonight, one off a Honeycutt redirect and then on an unassisted breakaway. Junior Samantha Walter scored in her first game for the Apaches off a redirect in the box from sophomore Logan Wright.

Wabash also had great minutes from sophomore Reagan Jones up top. Tipp Valley’s goal came off a penalty kick awarded in the 2nd half. The Lady Apaches play at home again at Alumni Field on Saturday at 10am, as they begin conference play against Maconaquah.
