Manchester Soccer Impressive In Season Opener
The Manchester boys soccer team opened the season at home Thursday with a convincing 9-0 win against conference opponent, Peru.
The Squires controlled the tempo and possession from beginning end Thursday evening. Manchester put 4 goals in the net in the first half and scored 5 in the second half.
Scoring for the Squires were Dylan Hernandez with 1 goal, Diego Munoz with 1 goal, Lasse Jansen with 1 goal, Nathaniel Miller adding 2 goals (and 2 assist), and Tyler McLain with and impressive game high 4 goals and 2 assist to start his senior season.
Manchesters Defense, in a strong collective effort, held the Tigers Scoreless for the game. Riley Shock did well to open his senior season by controlling the midfield defensively and also adding an assist to a solid game. Junior Goalkeeper, Evan Mclaughlin, earned his first clean sheet with the shutout.
Manchester is back on the field Saturday at the Northwood Invite with first game kicking off at 10AM.
