Results from Peru for Tuesday, September 5th

Tigers Sweep Whitko

The Tigers traveled to Whitko for a TRC match on Tuesday. Peru defeated Whitko 5-0 to move to 9-0 on the season and 3-0 in the TRC.

Peru’s Ian Potts, Jayleb Walsh, and Jacob Boswell all posted 6-0, 6-0 scores at #1 singles, #2 singles, and #3 singles respectively.

Lucas Musser and Jackson Boswell won #1 doubles 6-1, 6-1.

Whitko did not field a #2 doubles team thus giving the spot to Peru by forfeit.

The Tigers continue a busy week tomorrow with a trip to Culver Academy.

Varsity Volleyball falls to Whitko Jr/Sr 3 – 0

Lady Tigers traveled to Whitko Tuesday night falling in 3 sets 20-25, 5-25, 24-26. Peru started the night on top giving the Wildkats a challenge. The Tigers decided to turn up the heat again in the third set but couldn’t hold on. Sophomore Kyla Neupert led with 7 service points and 2 aces. Freshman Jacey Boswell had 4 kills on the night. Peru will host Taylor at home on Thursday with JV starting at 6:00pm.

Girls Golf finishes 3rd at CGA Invite

The Tigers were on the road Saturday at Culver Academy for the CGA Invite. The team continued to show improvement, shooting a season low 409 with several personal-bests. Piercey Dyer finished runner-up individually with a two under par 70. Raina Nero followed with 108 and Bailee Beattie shot 114, each personal low rounds. Lainey Wouster contributed a 117 and Annie Dolly fired 124, also a personal best.

The team will enjoy a few days off before returning to action next Wednesday at Dykeman Park against Logansport and Maconaquah. The match is scheduled to begin at 4:30.
