Death Valley Football dominates Tipton 53 – 0

It was another game in the win column for the Death Valley Football program as they defeated the Blue Devils of Tipton tonight 53-0 to improve to 4-0 on the year.

The 1st quarter was a quick indication of how the rest of the night would go. Nate Parker was the leading man for the offense, scoring on three separate occassions in just the 1st quarter. The first game on a 13 yard rush on the first drive. The second game off a 3 yard rush on the second drive. And the third came from a 23 yard rush on the third drive. Following one made PAT from Gage Overbey, the Vikings led Tipton 19-0 at the end of the 1st.

The 2nd quarter saw the leg showcase of Gage Overbey as he knocked in a 46 yard field goal to make it 22-0. On the next defensive stand, it was Brock Derf who picked up a Tipton fumble and took it to the house for the 30 yard score to make it 29-0 following the PAT. Nate Parker decided to add some variety to his scoring by taking a 27 yard pass from Cody Eastgate to the endzone to make it 36-0. Overbey put in another field goal, this time from 33 yards to give the Vikings a 39-0 lead at halftime and the running clock in the second half.

It only took one play at the start of the 3rd quarter for Nate Parker to score another touchdown, this time on a 67 yard run to make it 46-0 following the Overbey PAT. The younger defense held tough throughout the second half to keep the Blue Devils scoreless. Valley however was not done scoring as Nate Engstrand found his way into the endzone off a 7 yard run to give Valley their final score followed up by the Overbey PAT, making the final score 53-0.

It was a huge game for the linemen on both sides of the ball. The offensive line was responsible for setting up 351 yards rushing and 168 yards passing for a total of 519 offensive yards, making it the best total yards game of the season. The Wrecking Crew had themselves another stellar game. The defensive line and linebackers allowed -1 yards rushing while the secondary only gave up 84 yards passing, keeping the Blue Devils to 83 total yards and only allowing one first down in the first half of the game.

The Vikings improve to 4-0 on the year and will continue their home game stretch as they welcome the Eagles from Culver Academy next week with kickoff set for 7:00 PM.
