Manchester XC Runs At Maconaquah
In a field of 16 complete teams, the Manchester boys high school team finished 6th place, just one point behind 5th, at the Maconaquah Invite Saturday.
Every boy on the team ran not only a season PR, but a career PR. Kyler Dale finished 9th in a time of 16:56. Senior Caleb Smith ran 18:00. Freshman Oliver Fitzpatrick ran 18:29. Clark Showalter broke 19 minutes for the first time running 18:57. Jet Thomas (19:36), Gabe Selleck (22:09), and Cameron Peacock (24:28) all smashed their previous PRs.
The Manchester High School girls cross country team finished 7th out of 12 complete team at the Maconaquah Invite.
Nearly every girl ran a season or career PR. Ayla Cashdollar led the way in 7th place. Senior Ava Egolf broke 21 minutes for first time running 20:45. Freshman Rachel Steely continues to get better dropping over 30 seconds to run 22:24. Evyn Fox (23:48), Grace Penrod (24:43), Miriam Struble-Hedstrom (24:53), and Maggie Akins (26:55) all ran PRs to round out the top 7. Shelby Cahill dropped nearly 3 minutes to run 28:16 and Kelzei Fox was the 9th Squire across the line.
