Northfield JH Girls XC Wins South Adams Invite

The Northfield junior high cross country teams ran in the South Adams Invite Saturday with the girls finishing first and the boys second.

The Northfield Middle School Lady Norse remained undefeated on the season after taking home the championship Saturday at the South Adams Small School Cross Country Invitational. In a dominant performance Kaleigh Rice won by 26 seconds over her closest competitor to take the individual championship. Teagan Baer, 11th, Ali Copeland, 14th, Addi Hawkens, 27th, Andrea Widemon, 24th, Haylee Bucher, 81st, Sheila Smith 82nd, and Izzy See, 131st. Each of the girls are in peak condition and performing at their best when it matters most. The Lady Norse travel to Lewis Cass on Wednesday and will then participate in the Wabash Middle School Invitational at the City Park next Saturday.

The boys Northfield Middle School Cross Country team came in 2nd place Saturday out of 15 teams. Bode Sorg led the way and was neck-and-neck with the winner. He came just .3 seconds short and was runner-up. Preston Moore, 15th, Nate Hodson, 27th, Hudson Haupert, 30th, Maesyn Jones, 68th, and Gavin Lester, 79th. The Norse turned in awesome performances and will return to action Wednesday at Lewis Cass and then travel to the Wabash Middle School Invitational at the City Park on Saturday.
