Girls Varsity Soccer beats Frankfort 7-0

The Lady Eagles got out to a quick 5-0 lead in the first half. Kora Pond initiated the Eagle’s offense by scoring the team’s first two goals. Jolee Hawkins scored off an assist by Landri Hardman. Then Kora Pond completed her hat trick by scoring a 3rd goal in the first half. Landri Hardman also had a hat trick, scoring 1 goal in the first half and two in second half action. Audrey Rex, Riley Alfandre and Annie Hale each had an assist. Liz Godfrey had 7 saves in goal.

The team moves to 6-1-2 on the season, and will travel to North Miami on Monday.

OHXC Golden Eagles Win 33 Team West Noble Invite – Jackson Wins Individual Title – Sweet, Tippey, Sneed, Sommers All Medal

The OHXC Golden Eagles put their Top 5 scorers all in the Top 25 earning Top 35 Podium Medals including a 1st and 3rd from the Senior duo of Owen Jackson and Trenton Sweet to score a low 50 points and win the 53rd Annual West Noble Invitational. The Golden Eagles held off Top 25 State Ranked Homestead who scored 64 points for 2nd. A very talented Wabash team was 3rd with 146 points.

It was the 2nd straight season that Jackson won the Individual Title at the large 33 Team Invite. This year Jackson won in a time 16:05 bettering his win from a year ago by 4 seconds. Sweet took 3rd in a time of 16:11. Along with Jackson and Sweet’s low numbers upfront it was strong finishes from Sophomore Corban Tippey in 10th and Senior Toby Sneed in 11th that helped the Golden Eagles win the team title alowng with a 25th Place finish from Sophomore Brayden Sommers. Tippey and Sommers both posted lifetime bests of 16:54 and 17:26 respectively in the process of earning medals. Senior AJ Austin rounded out the Varsity Top 7 in 62nd Place.

The OHXC Golden Eagles host the Grant 4 Championship Meet Tuesday September 19th. The Golden Eagles will be attempting to win their 8th straight County Title and their 24th the last 25 seasons.

OHXC Lady Eagle Biruk Travis Earns Medal at 29 Team West Noble Invitational

On Saturday OHXC Sophomore Biruk Travis was the only Lady Eagle to comepte in the 53rd annual West Noble Invitational.

Travis ran a very respectable and tough race in the 29 team field earning a Top 35 Podium Medal finishing 11th in a time of 19:56 matching her season best.

The individual title went to Addison Knoblauch of Homestead. The multi-time All State athlete won the event for the 4th straight year and led #1 Ranked Homestead to the team title.

Travis and the OHXC Lady Eagles compete Tuesday September 19th in the Grant 4 Championship Meet at Oak Hill.
