The Manchester Lady Squires volleyball team was able to pull out another marathon 5 set win, this time on the road at Maconaquah Thursday.
After winning the first two sets, the Squires allowed the Braves to battle back to tie the match at 2 sets a piece before putting the game away in the decisive final set. The scores were 25-22, 25-22, 24-26, 23-25, 15-7.
Peyton Ream had another nice night totaling 40 assists, 13 digs, and 5 kills.
Three Squires had double digit kills, led by McKelvey Espeset with 15. Olivia Davis (11) and Ava Felgar (10) were the others. Espeset also finished the night with 5 total blocks.
Paxton Baker led the backrow with 20 digs on the night, followed by Hadley West with 16, Ream with 13, and Myla Crozier with 12.
West and Marley Bellinger were able to put together some nice service runs as well.
Izzy Renz and Lauryn Reichenbach stepped into key situations were able to provide some huge momentum swinging kills for the Squires.
The Squires are now 10-11 on the season and 5-1 in the TRC. They travel to county and conference foes Northfield and Southwood next week.
The JV lady Squires beat Maconaquah in 2 sets. The scores were 25-23 and 25-19.
