Southwood JH Volleyball Sweeps Southwood Invite
The Southwood 7th and 8th grade volleyball teams won the Southwood Invite Saturday.
The 7th grade girls volleyball team won 4 matches on Saturday to place 1st at their home tournament.
They defeated Eastbrook, 25-6, 25-20, Manchester, 25-8, 25-7, and North Miami 25-6, 25-16 to place first in their pool. In the championship match, they fought a hard three set match to overcome county rivalry, Northfield, 22-25, 25-21, 15-8.
The 8th grade volleyknights won 4 matches in Saturday’s home tournament to earn 1st place.
Southwood beat Eastbrook, 25-13, 25-12, Tipp. Valley, 25-17, 25-15, and North Miami, 25-8, 25-20 before defeating Manchester in the championship match, 25-12, 25-21.
