Peru Tigers Fall to Oak Hill Golden Eagles

Tigers started off the match on their back foot, regaining their ground as time passed. Tigers were given a Free kick 20+ yards outside of Oak Hill’s goal in which the Tigers scored. Half time Tigers were tied up with the Eagles 1 – 1. Landen Crowe was awarded a PK during the second half, unfortuantely Oak Hill goalie had a nice stop to deny the Tigers a goal. Tigers continued to battle Oak Hill throughout the rest of the match even as Oak Hill scored a few goals on them.

Girls Varsity Soccer falls to Sectionals 4 – 0

Peru held Maconaquah off the board the beginning of first half. A very fast Brave team caught the Tigers off guard quickly giving up 3 goals towards the end the first half. The Tiger defense pushed them back and advanced the ball more offensively the second half although gained no goals on Maconaquah for a loss of 0 to 4. The Lady Tigers will be back next year ready to advance with the improvements they have made throughout the season.

Tigers Lose in First Round of Regional to Huntington North

The Tigers were in action at Thrush Courts against the Huntington North Vikings in the first round of the regional. The Vikings beat the Tigers 3-2 to end Peru’s season. it was a singles sweep for the Vikings as they won all three matches in three sets.

1 Singles Ian Potts lost 7-5, 1-6, 2-6.

2 Singles Jayleb Walsh lost 6-1, 3-6, 3-6.

3 Singles Jackson Rogers lost 1-6, 6-4, 5-7.

1 Doubles Jackson and Jacob Boswell won 6-4, 6-4.

2 Doubles J.P. Pallante and Lucas Musser won 6-3, 6-0.

The Tigers ended the season as TRC and Sectional Champions.
