Lady Kings Improve to 3-0 with 41-25 Road Victory Over Tri-Central

The Lady Kings survive on the road despite a poor shooting performance to improve to 3-0 on the season. The last time the girls basketball team has started a season 3-0, Coach Steve Ford was marching on the sideline in 2001.

Led by Sophomore point guard, Anna Hedrick, the Kings were able to bounce back from a slow start as they found themselves down at the end of the 1st quarter for the first time this season. Hedrick muscled her way to 12 points, 11 points all in the 1st half. She was also able to nab 3 steals and earn 2 assists as well. Heta Kosunen led all scorers with 13 points as she consistently paced the Kings each quarter along with her 5 rebounds. Aftin Griffin again led the Kings with 4 steals as she scored 7 points. Ava Hubner led the Kings with 4 defensive rebounds as she also chipped in 5 points. Senior, Faith Helvie, grabbed two offensive rebounds and a steal as she earned 3 points on an and-one play late in the 4th quarter to help her team close the game.

The Lady Kings return home against Kokomo, Wednesday night.
