Boys Varsity Basketball beats Wabash 51 – 28

The Varsity Boys Basketball Team had a little pressure on them to make it a clean sweep after the C Team and JV won convincingly, and they did not disappoint! The Golden Eagles completed the sweep against visiting Wabash by winning 51-28. The Eagles started strong in their matchup defense and finished even stronger giving up only 28 points in the game. The Apaches were harassed all night by the Eagles causing a lot of quick unbalanced shots. After scoring an efficient 21 points in the first half, the Golden Eagles found their rhythm in the second half with good team offense scoring 30. The ball kept moving around and eventually finding senior Ty Fagan as he put up 9 of his team high 21 points. Freshman Jace Tonagel also found his rhythm in his first varsity game of his career in the 2nd half scoring 9 of his 12 points on the night. Tonagel also dished out 5 or 6 assists running the point for the Eagles. Next in scoring was R.J. Shugart with 6 points and 4 assists. Trenton Sweet and Levi Trexler both chipped in 5 points. Levi also had a team high 8 rebounds for the Eagles. Rounding out the scoring was Jackson Lamb with 2 points. For a team with very little varsity experience, the Golden Eagles showed when they play together as an army of one, good things can happen! The Golden Eagles will travel to a very good Manchester team this Saturday in a girls and boys double header. The girls have a 6pm start time, with the boys to follow
