The Lady Vikes were victorious at home Tuesday night against a very good, ranked 2A Bishop Luers. Defeating them 48-45. Marissa Trout paced the Vikes with 16 points and Haiden Bailey added 14 points. Grace Michel set a career high with 7 points and 8 rebounds. The Vikes jumped out to a 1st quarter 10-6 lead. The 2nd quarter was more of the same for the Vikes. Fueled by 8 points from Trout in the period, extending the halftime lead to 24-12. Luers battled back, chipping away at the lead outscoring the Vikes 15-10 in the 3rd quarter. In the 4th quarter Luers got as close as 1 point, before 4-point play by Haiden Bailey off the Trout assist pushed the lead back to 5. The Lady Vikes were able to hit some free throws down the stretch to hold on for the 3 point win. The Lady Vikes are now 2-3 on the season and head to Norwell Friday night in their first conference test of the season.
