The Manchester swim teams were at the Warsaw Invite Saturday.

Girls Varsity Swimming finishes 3rd place at Warsaw Invite

Behind Rachel Garcia’s two first place finishes, the girl’s swim team finished 3rd overall in the Warsaw Invitational behind Warsaw and Fort Wayne Snider. Garcia blazed to a victory in the 50 freestyle, touching the wall in 25.37, which is just .18 seconds off of Halle Briner’s school record. She also won the 100 breaststroke with a personal best time. Joanna Eberly took 2nd in the 100 butterfly while Hannah Eberly was 3rd in the 100 breaststroke. Other Manchester swimmers with top 8 finishes include Elena Lawrence (4th – 200 freestyle, 6th -100 backstroke), Hannah Eberly (7th – 50 freestyle), Miriam Struble-Hedstrom (7th – 100 butterfly), Evyn Fox (6th – 500 freestyle), and Joanna Eberly (7th 100 backstroke). The Squires had a strong showing in the 200 medley relay with the team of Garcia, Eberly, Eberly, and Noelle Walt finishing 2nd and the team of Lawrence, Fox, Sophie Anglin, and Laynen DeLaughter finishing 7th. In the 400 freestyle relay, Struble-Hedstrom, Anglin, Lawrence, and Raegen Shah finished 7th. The Squires will host Rochester on Thursday.

Boys Varsity Swimming finishes 8th place at Warsaw Invite

The boys swim team finished 8th at the Warsaw Invitational. The Squires were led by Cameron Peacock and Cale Bennett who each had a pair of top 8 finishes. Peacock finished 5th in the 500 freestyle and 7th in the 100 breaststroke. Bennett was 8th in the 100 butterfly and 7th in the 500 freestyle. The 200 medley team of Jet Thomas, Peacock, Bennett, and Luca Jelen finished 5th. Manchester will host Rochester on Thursday.
