Girls Varsity Basketball beats Whitko 49 – 48

The Lady Kings played the 8-2 Whitko Wildcats shot for shot in a nailbitting finisher that ended with the Kings earning the victory and another conference win. Despite the Lady Wildcats torching the nets as they hit 11 three pointers, the Lady Kings were able to keep pace, largly due to the transition game of Aftin Griffin and the inside scoring of Kinsey Mennen. Mennen scored a game high 20 points as she also pulled down a game high 10 rebounds earning her another double double on the season. Aftin Griffin was able to score 15 points as she went 4 for 5 from the free throw line and earned 5 steals in the win. Other scorers for the Kings were Heta Kosunen with 5 points, Mylie Sipe with 3, and Anna Hedrick, Kylie Logan, and Faith Helvie added 2 points each.

The Lady Kings improve to 10-1 on the season and 3-0 in the conference.

Girls Junior Varsity Basketball beats Whitko 38 – 14

In a commanding performance on their home court in Walton, the Lewis Cass Lady Kings secured a solid win against the Whitko Lady Wildcats with a final score of 38-14. The victory adds another impressive chapter to the Lady Kings’ successful 8-1 record for the season.

Laura Nebrera continued to lead the scoring charge, contributing 14 points and showcasing her consistent offensive prowess. Laney Davis and Ava Hubner added 9 points each, underlining the Lady Kings’ well-rounded offensive capabilities. Peyton Harrison, Lexi Gotshall, and Lilly Hammond each contributed 2 points, highlighting the shared contributions within the team.

Executing plays with precision and displaying tenacious defense, the Lady Kings effectively limited the scoring opportunities for the Whitko Lady Wildcats. The atmosphere, while focused and supportive, emphasized the dedication of the fans and supporters.
