Girls Varsity Basketball falls to Blackford 37 – 30

Oak Hill lost a tough game this Saturday morning
at Blackford. Oak Hill had the lead after one quarter and was tied at half, 17-17. There were bright spots in the game led by Liz Godfrey with 11 points. Landri Hardman and Alivia Shaw chipped in with 8 amd 7 points, respectively. Morgan Cates led the team with 7 rebounds followed by Alivia Shaw and Lydia Trexler with 5 each.

Landri Hardman also led the team with 3 assists.

Oak Hill will play host to Nothwestern on Wednesday. On the season Oak Hill is 9-8.

Oak Hill JV won again and they are 15-2 on the season.

Oak Hill went 3-1 and finished 5th in Class 2A of the Indiana High School Wrestling Coaches Association’s Team State Duals held on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at Jay County High School.

Boys Varsity Basketball falls to Eastern Jr/Sr 69 – 66

The Varsity Boys fell to a hot shooting Eastern team on the Comets home floor tonight in a battle 66-69. A close game throughout, the Eagles fell just short at the end losing by 3. Ty Fagan led the Eagles tonight with a strong offensive performance scoring 17 points, with 5 assists and multiple rebounds. Jace Tonagel finished with 15 points and 5 assists. Levi Trexler had 12. Colin Middlesworth came off the bench in the first half and helped to keep the game close hitting 3 big three pointers for his 9 points. Jackson Lamb had 6 points off the bench also. Rounding out the offense was Trenton Sweet with 4 points and 3 assists, and RJ Shugart with 3 points and 4 assists. The Eagles turn around and play their 3rd game in 5 days as they host Southwood Tuesday night.

Cates Dives Past All at Jay County Invite & Beats own School Record

unior Diver, Grant Cates, surpassed all competitors by 240 points and more in an 11 dive meet. Junior Diver, Maddux Boswell, also competing at a high level placing 4th and beating the rest of the field by 80 points.

Cates not only won the event but also beat his own 11 Dive School Record. Last year was a 554.50, at Jay County he ended with a score of 590.10.

Boys Swimming & Diving finish 2nd in 16 team Invite

Boys knew coming in that they were predicted to lose this meet by nearly 30 points. Boys were also down 1 swimmer who would have scored just enough to bring home the win. All in all, nearly every single swim was a PR and some of those PR’s were out of this world faster than this seasons best. The boys brought that deficit down to only 18 points making this a reallly close meet against a strong Bluffton team.
