Varsity Tigers drop 3rd straight falling to Maconaquah 88-68

The Tigers traveled south to Bunker Hill to face county and conference foe Maconaquah looking for revenge from the loss in the Holiday Tournament championship game.

The Varsity Tigers struggled to keep control of the ball offensively just like their JV counterparts. Committing 6 turnovers in the 1st quarter leading the Braves to score 26 points. Brave Junior Josiah Ball entered the game needing 1 point to reach the 1000-point mark for his career. The Tigers made him wait for over half the quarter before he scored his first basket of the night.

The Tigers took better control of the ball in the 2nd quarter but struggled to get back defensively on missed shots as the Braves pushed the ball extending their lead to 17 at the break.

The 2nd half started like the first with Peru again turning the ball over frequently allowing Maconaquah to knock in 5 3-pointers in the quarter to push their lead to 21.

The teams traded baskets in the 4th quarter with Peru never really able to mount a comeback attempt.

The loss drops the Tigers to 7-6(4-1 TRC) on the season. They are back in action Friday Night at Lafayette Central Catholic with an approx. tip time of 7:45 p.m.
